Being born in Utah I never realized that outside of the state until I started to travel that is not normal to have a first look. I totally understand the meaning behind waiting for your groom to see you on your big day but I am here to change your mind. Or give you some information to think about.
Here are my top 3 reasons to have a first look before the wedding day.
#1: Trial hair and makeup
This is the time to maybe try what you were thinking for your wedding day to make sure you like it. Or give you the option to have your hair up as opposed to down on the wedding day. I know some of my brides wanted veils in their photos but not to wear on their wedding day so this gave them the option to do both.
#2: Print out photos of you in your wedding attire to have for the wedding day.
This is a great reason and huge reason why my brides do this is because they want to have large print for the wedding displayed for the dinner & reception.
#3: Able to wear your wedding attire at a different location other than your wedding venue.
This one I think is so fun and always turns out amazing. We all love our wedding venues but always wish we could wear our dresses more and at different spots. This gives the option to take it up to the mountains or to the salt flats and get incredible portraits to have on display.
There are so many reasons to have a first look but these are my top 3. I also have tips in my wedding guide for my brides for first looks such as how to preserve their dress, preparing your groom, travel arrangements and more!
